NPR recently launched a re-designed web site. The new design features bold global navigation at the top of each page. To indicate the user's current location, the corner is "turned down" on the navigation option.
It's an interesting visual treatment I hadn't seen before. Though subtle, I think it clearly communicates "I am here."
